Taekwondo Techniques for Beginners: Free Online Self Defense Class

Taekwondo is a martial art that combines Japanese, Chinese, and Korean styles of fighting. It is the national sport of Korea and the name (loosely translated) means the way of the foot and the fist. Tae Kwon Do is one of the most popular styles of martial arts practiced worldwide. It is practiced for defense, sport and exercise all over the world. The martial art emphasizes a mobile stance kick, used to overtake an opponent from a distance. Taekwondo is a combination of combat styles taught by three Korean kingdoms in the earliest times of recorded history of Korea. From 1910-1945, Koreans were exposed to Japanese martial arts, and this was highly influential on their methods of martial arts. Then, during the Korean War, even more marital arts school (kwan) were opened and were instructed to unite under a common name and Taekwondo was invented.
