Introduction to Exceptional Child
This course is designed to introduce class participants to effective teaching and management strategies appropriate for students with disabilities and to familiarize participants with the nature, characteristics, strengths, and needs of students with disabilities. Participants will become acquainted with the major disabilities recognized by IDEA. The course is designed around the major provisions of the P.L. 94-142, IDEA, and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
