Identification and Education of Children with Special Needs

This course is designed to introduce class participants to effective teaching and management strategies appropriate for students with disabilities. Participants will become familiar with the categories of disabilities and with the nature, characteristics, strengths, and needs of students with disabilities. The course is designed around the major provisions of P.L. 94-142 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
