Fabric, cloth and textiles in general are flexible materials made from a variety of sources that fashion clothes, bags, baskets and countless other things in our daily lives. The uses for fabrics are endless, but primarily fabrics are used for clothes making and fashion design. Fabric can be woven, knit, crocheted, or knotted to form outfits and clothes. Tailoring and dressmaking experts use a wide variety of fabric types for their ventures, and its mandatory to understand the different types of fabrics and their limitations before making clothes or doing adjustments to articles of clothing. Some types of fabric come from animals (wool, for instance) and require special care to retain their elasticity or shape, other types of material are more sturdy and can work better for every day outfits and children's clothes. All types of fabric are different and create different types of outfits and clothes, it is important for even a novice sewer or dressmaker to know a little about all the materials at their disposal.
