Deep Fried Turkey: Cajun Style Recipe

Deep fried turkey has been a long time favorite in the southern United States, but in recent years it has become a very popular holiday dish throughout the country. This is due in part to the shorter cooking time, as well as the fact that the meat is generally juicier and moister than when prepared in a conventional oven.

In this series of free video cooking lessons, you ll learn tips for the perfect recipe for Cajun style deep fried turkey and dirty rice. Expert chef David Postada gives you step-by-step instructions on how to prepare, season and deep fry a turkey, including all the ingredients you need to make the marinade, how to use the injector, and how to apply a dry rub of Cajun spices. David demonstrates how to set up the fryer equipment, and offers tips on measuring and pouring the oil, as well as how to use a coat hanger for safely inserting and removing the turkey from the hot oil. It s easier than it looks, and takes a lot less time than preparing your bird in the oven.
