Meringue Kisses Recipe : Easy Baking at Home

Meringue is made from carefully whipped eggs and caster sugar. The delicate consistency is desired by baker's and hungry pastry lovers world wide. More often than not, the base of the sugar and eggs is flavored with small amounts of essence. Lemon meringue is a popular favorite, but bakers and chefs might also use lemon, coconut, chocolate or raspberry to add a little oomph to their treats. When meringues are used like cookies or small treats, they are kept in the oven for long periods of time at a very low temperature, then perhaps kept in the oven turned off even overnight. Meringue will become soggy if refrigerated, so airtight containers at room temperature or closed ovens are recommended.

In this instructional video clip series, our expert nutritionist and cook will demonstrate and explain a simple meringue recipe step by step. Learn how to make delicious chocolate and walnut filled meringue kisses. Learn how to create the meringue base by whipping eggs and learn the fine art of adding chocolate pieces and walnuts to the meringue. Understand why certain temperatures work for meringue and why some do not, as well as tips for serving and decorating the meringue for guests when you are finished preparing them.

This series is an Equilibrio Films production.
